Kirschen Short Chisel – Beech Handle
Description
The Kirschen short chisel is designed for work in hard-to-reach areas where a standard-sized chisel would be impractical. It is particularly useful in confined spaces, such as the interiors of drawers, staircases, or tight joints.
With a total length of approximately 165 mm , it allows you to work closer to the workpiece, offering greater control and precision.
Manufactured by Kirschen, this chisel is hand-forged from high-carbon tool steel, ensuring excellent performance and durability.
The blade features a polished surface, allowing for clean, smooth cuts in the wood.
Applications
– work in confined spaces
– fitting of joints (tenons and mortises)
– drawer interiors and structures
– precision cuts and control
Construction
The blade is hardened to approximately HRc 61 —above common standards—ensuring excellent edge retention.
The edge is factory-ground to an angle of approximately 25° , suitable for soft to medium-hard wood.
The beechwood handle provides a comfortable and durable grip, suitable for manual use or use with a light mallet.
