Roughing Plane No. 5 – Faithfull (Jack Plane)

Description

A bench plane, also known as a jack plane , is used for the initial preparation of rough wood , allowing for leveling and straightening surfaces before finishing stages. Its longer body helps remove irregularities and align the piece during roughing.

This plane is manufactured with a high-quality gray cast iron body , offering strength and stability during use. The base and side faces are precision ground , ensuring flatness and squareness for accurate work.

The machined blade seats help reduce vibrations and wobble of the iron , providing smoother and more controlled cuts. The blade is secured by a lever cap with a brass tightening screw , which allows for easy release of the iron for sharpening.

The tool features wooden handles and a front button , providing comfort and control during use. The blade adjustment is made via a solid brass adjustment nut , maintaining the traditional character of these woodworking tools.

The plane is supplied in a hinged wooden case , suitable for storage and protection.

Note: The blade needs initial sharpening before first use .
