Rebate Plane No. 778 38 mm – Faithfull

The Faithfull No. 778 planer is designed to perform rebates up to 38 mm wide , making it a versatile tool for joinery and carpentry work that requires precise cuts on edges and joints.

The tool features a robust cast iron body with a ground base , ensuring stability and precision during use. The rebate is guided by an adjustable side guide , supported by two rods that allow the guide to be positioned on either side of the planer.

The planer includes a two-position attachment , increasing its versatility. In the central position, it is used to perform conventional rebates with precise depth control via a fine adjustment screw . In the front position, it allows for bullnose work , enabling work close to corners or hard-to-reach areas.

For cuts across the wood's axis, the tool is equipped with a rotating cutting spur , which helps prevent splintering and provides a cleaner finish. The planer also includes an adjustable depth stop to control the depth of the rebate.

The tool is supplied in a hinged wooden case , suitable for storage and protection.
