Tenon Saw 12″ Beech
Description
A stiff-backed saw designed for joinery work , particularly suitable for cutting tenons, mortise and tenon shoulders, and other precision cuts .
This model from the Lynx line is manufactured in Sheffield, England , following the tradition of the historic brand E. Garlick & Son , founded in 1858.
The blade is made of alloy spring steel , offering durability and good cutting performance. The rigid, folded brass back provides stability to the blade, allowing for controlled and precise cuts.
The handle is made of dyed steam-treated beechwood , secured with brass-plated screws , providing a comfortable and secure grip during work.
As with traditional Sheffield saws, the blade can be resharpened throughout its lifespan with a suitable file.
Supplied in a branded, recyclable cardboard box .
Note on the type of toothing
• Rip Cut – a serrated blade designed to cut with the grain of the wood , ideal for mortise and tenon cuts.
• Crosscut – a toothed blade designed to cut across the axis , providing cleaner cuts in this type of operation.
